The GIVEAWAYS
STOSSER 12 : MARCH 94'
By Tony Greenwood
First off i would just like to point out to anyone that has already
been to the Mugshots screen, I have at least three more hairs on my head
than shown....So there!
A tip for a nice effect :(1) Load your art package , (2) Draw a picture,
(3) Stretch it ( Make it slightly longer ), (4) Flip it upside down, (5)
Load it into a STOS Bank, (6) use the Missing links REFLECT command to
get it onto the physical screen, RESULT!, A nice smooth ripley effect
screen that would otherwise have taken a lot more code including sin
waves etc, ......Your Welcome!
Please please can everyone STOP sending out disks with the FUZION boot
protector installed, It really is a pain in the Bum!, It is self
copying and even copies itself to disks that already use the
bootsector, Such as Demos etc, The FUZION boot protector will ruin this
type of disk, Although it can be an excellent program and does protect
your disks from virus, Please dont send it to Anyone at STOSSER...TA!
So whats on this months disk?, Well we have a real scoop this month in
the form of the CYBER ANIMATION PLAYER By Andy Cato, I used this in a
previous issue of STOSSER with the Forman Seq, It really is the most
easy routine to use, In the folder you will find the player that loads
into a STOS bank, A sample Seq file, Some basic routines and of course a
Doc File, But one look at any of the Basic files and you will instantly
know how to play Cyber Animations from within STOS, So next time you
read in ST FLOORMAT that something cannot be done, I suggest you get in
touch with STOSSER for the real facts!
We have a new contributer of Basic files in the form of Michael Figures
who has sent in some new and slightly different files, You will need the
Missing Link extension to run these, If anyone out there has not got
this extension then you can get a copy from your local P.D.L., But you
will need to register as its shareware, If anyone is unsure of what to
do with an Extension, How to install it or use it etc, Then write to our
STOS DOCTOR Martin Cubitt, Martin will gladly explain how to install it
and how to use it, If you send him a S.A.E. and a disk then he will
reply to you personally,
We have an Exlusive Demo from Scott King, Its the Demo of the Music
Player that will be on the latest version of Video Supreme, It is in the
root directory in a folder cunningly named, MUS_PLAY. I think the whole
package is due for release around June/July, ( But check out the
accompanying doc file in case i am wrong! ), If the rest of the package
is as well put together as this Demo then it will be one to look out for,
Unfortunatly due to lack of Disk space, This will be the last PRG or
Demo that i include with STOSSER, Unless its in Basic or a PRG that can
be loaded into a STOS bank , For instance the CYBER player is a program,
But it can be loaded into STOS and used to good effect by a programmer,
There will be other bits and bats on the disk, But far better if you
just get stuck in!,
